Event Description

Ephemeral – lasting only for a short time (dictionary.cambridge.org)

On Saturday, April 23, you will get the chance to drown yourself in an ephemeral experience as Nagkahiusang Magsusulat sa Cagayan de Oro (NAGMAC) and Chingkeetea presents CDO Poetry Night: Ephemeral. It will be one night of poetry, essays, stories, and music that tell us about fleeting but memorable moments and short lived but meaningful experiences.

As always, the event will showcase works by some of the city’s most passionate writers, as well as favorite pieces by well-loved authors. After NAGMAC members get their chance to share ephemeral experiences onstage, the spotlight will be on guests and aspiring writers who want to tell their stories during the open mic segment.

This month’s poetry night will be held at Chingkeetea Main along Hayes Street (in between Pabayo Street and Corrales Avenue). Storytelling will start at 6pm. Admission is free, but seating will be on a first come, first serve basis, so be at the venue as early as you can.

CDO Poetry Night: Ephemeral is part of the National Literature Month celebration. NAGMAC, the event’s main organizer, is a strong supporter of literature, with members who are poets, fictionists, essayists, and playwrights. Those who are interested to be part of the group can register as members during the said event.

For more information about Ephemeral, check out the CDO Poetry Night event page on Facebook here.

So, see you at Chingkeetea! We guarantee you, it’s the kind of fleeting experience you won’t forget in a long time!
